Unified Communications
The Cisco Unified Communications system of voice products and applications enables agencies to improve communication and speed decision making by reaching the right resources when they need to, and increasing collaboration.

Using a single, converged network for voice and data, agencies can:
Streamline operations
Increase productivity and responsiveness
Reduce training expenses, equipment costs, service fees, and staffing requirements

The system also helps agencies meet COOP requirements through telework and crisis management applications. For more federal-specific on Cisco Unified Communications solution, click here.

Security
The Self-Defending Network is Cisco's long-term strategy to protect federal organizations from threats caused by both internal and external sources. This protection helps government organizations take better advantage of the intelligence in network resources, thus improving technology ROI and cutting security costs. The Cisco networked-based strategy allows you to use your existing investment to solve your most pressing security concerns today, while providing an architectural platform that can evolve to proactive, automated, real-time management of threats.

Cisco understands your needs to:
Consolidate network devices
Enforce policy at endpoints
Integrate networking and security
Prepare for tomorrow's events, not just today's
Leverage existing infrastructure
More easily achieve and demonstrate compliance with FISMA

IPv6
Mandated by the Federal Government for compliance across all organizations, IPv6 is a new IP protocol designed to replace IPv4, the Internet protocol that is predominantly deployed and extensively used throughout the world. IPv6 quadruples the number of network address bits from 32 bits (in IPv4) to 128 bits, which provides more than enough globally unique IP addresses for every network device on the planet. Though the government implementation requirements were not enforced until November 2005, as a thought leader in this technology Cisco initially announced its three-phase IPv6 roadmap in June 2000. Cisco has since introduced a wide spectrum of IPv6 solutions in support of helping federal customers become compliant with the IPv6 transition requirements deadline of June 2008.
